I reached Manipal University early on 11th morning for my M Tech. counseling. Its a 2 hour bus journey from Manglore Central Railway station. I had breakfast in the food court in the campus. I was glad to find cool food joints like Subway and Dominos pizzas too there. I was not that tensed because I was pretty confident that I would get a seat! The counseling began with a couple of presentations about the new programs introduced this year. The countdown of the seats began very soon as the seat were getting filled one by one. My top priority was to get a Computer Science and Engineering seat. If failed then Software Engineering or Network Engineering.
The total intake was only 24 and my rank for the entrance exam is 171. As the rank neared 100 in the counseling, there were 16 vacant and 8 seats filled in CSE. So I thought, for another 100, another 8 will be filled and 8 vacant making my chances to get a CSE seat better! I kept my fingers crossed as my rank was nearing.
And finally my name was called and there were 8 seats remaining in CSE, just as I expected! All the three branches were there for me to choose from. I was thrilled and excited as I got my CSE I wanted. Later I booked my hostel room and also got myself a bank account in SBI!
After failing in the IIIT, Hyderabad exam and seats falling short in VIT, Vellore, I can now finally taste success at MIT, Manipal!
Looking forward for a new beginning at Manipal. To study in a new state and a new language to learn! Lots in store for me as a challenging 2 years study in MIT will begin early next month!
